In operation since 1885, during the British Raj , the GPO was built near the Old Delhi Railway Station near the Kashmiri Gate in the old city wall; it is the oldest post office in Delhi. It is also a bus 🚏 stop for DTC buses. Buses can be taken mainly for Old Delhi Railway Station, Anand Parbat, IGI terminal etc.

Built in 1885, this General Post Office was one of the main focal points of mail & telegraph distribution for all of North India, located a walking distance from Old Delhi Railway Station, it still recieves a lot of mail & cargo meant for Delhi.
