Namura Head Post Office Post office, post box, postman are all interesting ideas to common people from the beginning. India's largest post office in the world, established in 1854. Our ocean post office also has a glorious history. Let's know a little about it. The post office at Chamarajpet in Sagar was started on 9th February 1891 as a sub post office with only 10 employees. In 1976 it was upgraded as a Head Post Office. At the same time, the present building was constructed and became known as the well-equipped Head Post Office for that time. Today one postmaster, 50 office staff and 16 postmen are working here. 22 sub-offices, 15 branches come under the purview of this office. This office was computerized in 2005. At one time post boxes could be found all over the main streets of Sagarmatha. But today there are only four to five boxes. Until 1987, mail was sent from elsewhere to the ocean by rail, after which bus services were used to transport mail. Even today mail is transported by bus. Sagar Nagar has 3 branch post offices namely Sagar Bazar, Gandhinagar and Market Road, Sagar Bazar office was earlier identified as Telegram office. About 150 wire messages were exchanged per day. Today about 3 to 4 thousand letters arrive in Sagar every day. More than 250 speed posts and register posts will be transferred. This office offers not only postal services but also financial and investment services. The task of the postal agents here is to deliver that service to the public. There are 40 authorized agents working in Sagar. There is a Sagar Pilitory Association and many philatelic collectors are registered here. A special cover release of Sagara's proud feathers Joga, Keladi, Siganduru, Varadahalli Sridharashram, Apkos and Neenasam. The Post Office, established in 2018 at Hakre Maradamvalli in Sagar, is the youngest branch. Letters are dispatched at 3.30 pm and 4.30 pm daily. Apart from postal service, this post office also has an art family called "Postal Entertainment Corps" for art service. This troupe, which used to perform plays at Sagar's Gandhi Maidan, won the first prize twice at the national level. The same team's drama "Anatha Patra" has been aired many times on DD9(Chandana) channel. This post office of the British era also contributed to the freedom struggle. Heeding the call given by Bal Gangadhar Tilak, the public Ganpati festival was started in this office, till today Ganpati is celebrated for 5 days and the festival is celebrated with great pomp. Serving since more than a century, this post office has firmly pressed its stamp on the minds of seafarers. Sagar head post office is head for Sagar, soraba, hosanagara taluk's and also for some part of thirthahalli's sub and branch offices. It's at centre of city with good infrastructure. It's a PHILATELY BRANCH . Service is not soo bad.
