Passport seva kendra, its in the post office building. I have been there for the renewal of my passport. Staff is good and supportive enough to handle queries. They hardly takes 15-20 minutes for the overall process. And vevy next day I got a call for the police verification and in 5 days I have received my passport. Really impressed with the fast service of passport iffice. Thank you so much for making this all so easy and simple.

My experience with this post office passport seva kendra is good ,got my normal passport within 15days including holiday's. Points to be noted: You should carry original id proof , address proof, 10th certificate with you which is must(Because they will check each and every thing over there). You should carry coloured photocopy of documents (specially id proof and address proof) which you have mentioned in your application form(pan card, aadhar, card, voter card, or any other document) Take print of application form also(but they returned my application form as every information was available with them). You should fill information correctly in your application form which should match with your id proof, address proof and 10th certificate otherwise they will raise an objection and you will suffer (my father surname was written in 10th certificate but was not written in aadhar card (as mentioned in application form) so i got it updated and few days got wasted) They will ask you (cross check) once where were you born, address, post office etc while filling info or checking it in system so that every info is feeded accurately then photo is taken. After this they will take 7days to process your application (my was normal passport) and then you will get mail from passport office that a police verification has been initiated (so you should daily check your email box or message box or should track application status online by mobile app or online site) after police verification which might be anonymous or they will tell you to visit police station or visit your home ,if you have any pending case then they will send report to passport office and in status it will show adverse report has been received and then you might have to visit shimla rpo office. If clear report is received from police station passport will be issued and within 15 working days it will be Delivered at your home address. Please carry appointment receipt copy with you because they will attach this copy with your documents otherwise they will tell you to write it on backside of your documents which will waste your time. There are only 3 chances for taking online appointments otherwise you will have to visit post office seva kendra or rposhimla if you missed it. Don't fill false info otherwise they will raise a penalty and also you have to give clarification regarding the issue. If any serious issue arises they will tell you to visit shimla as it is regional passport office. You can also get help through twitter(fastest response) if you face any problem. Thing's need to be improved : Broken chairs, big direction board should be there ,most of the walking pavement is blocked by people's vehicles so we dont get space to enter inside the office. Baaki jagah ke hisab se facility achi hai ,mil rahi hai bahut hai nahi toh shimla jaana padta aur dhakhe khaane padte baar baar paise alag barbaad hote. Post office seva kendra me aur rpo shimla me services ka fark hota hi hai ,issue toh shimla se hi hota hai .Post office ka staff passport bana ke dilwa raha hai woh hi badi baat hai .

Staff is not polite. They don’t treat all consumers equally. We were waiting for long. Our file was not processed according to time. I think they need training on consumer handling. Please fight for your rights don’t let them treat you as slaves.

they are not accepting there fault, they dont perform there duties well. neither they check the overseas parcel weight nor they check the condition of parcel(damaged or broken). after delivery the damaged parcel and missing items from parcel, they dont take there responsibility. frustrating experience, never trust them again. very bad experience

Pathetic,Worst and bad experience with post offices. They are not honest with dere jobs. I don't have words to describe Palampur ,shimla and kangra post office. Calling them from last one week but nobody answering . They are government employe or dictators. They don't know how to talk with people. They think they are king and we are slaves. Shame on you guys.

Pathetic experience went to collect my money from Western union at first there was no electricity for 1 hr then no internet for another 1hr then the perosn disappeared for half hr ... Then he took almost 10 minutes to fill the online form or something . Then the casheir was busy counting other cash so he took another half hr to give money . .. for 5 minutes work i wasted 4 hrs
