I have sent parcel to my hometown from this post office. The staff were very cooperative. The suggested that the size of the box needs to be adjusted as the dimension of the box was not within the permitted limit. The parcel got delivered at destination without any damage and promptly. Overall very satisfied with the service and cost of the parcel service provided by India post. I suggest, if you are travelling on vacation to McLeod ganj and want to send the items purchased from here, go for parcel service rather than paying additional charges for luggage to airline as it is cheaper and the guys here are experienced in handling the parcels. There is packing service available next to the post office at a reasonable cost. PS: I saw many foreigners sending parcel to different countries from here which gave me the confidence to utilise this service.

Poor services... There is only one man working on the services though lots of customers are awating in the queue.. Actually there are two pc at the desk but only one plus operating and rest dispersed.

It's always feel amazing the way indian post office work in the mountains. People are very humble and kind to assist you without making any problem for you.. And there is huge different between city and mountain post office where in the city they don't listen keep asking this and that document. If you are looking for cool and fast service then please post your parcel from Maclodganj post office Dharamsala.

Rs 10,000 worth of parcel not delivered by India Post Mcleod Ganj Post Office. Thief in Mcleod Ganj Post Office. This is not a first time, its many time that Post office employee has stolen things from our parcels. It’s with extreme disappointment, that I’m writing this mail, to express the disgust, I have as the items that have been delivered to my family are opened and replaced by one bedsheet from what we had send from Bangalore on 11th June 2016 and its received at Mcleod Gang PO on 17th June. We had packed a good amount of clothes for my Family and to our disappointment on unwrapping the courier that was delivered today morning(30th June 2016), we find a bedsheet with two pillow covers. This is very unfortunate and very unprofessional from the post-office, whoever has taken and replaced it with other items. We had raised a complaint yesterday – 29th June 2016, because there was no status updated on india post website, and today morning we got the item delivered, wrapped with a different cover from the one we sent, and with bedsheets. Horrible experience. Request an investigation onto this matter immediately and the items returned the same way it was packed.

The listed hours are 10-5, but its more like 10-4/4:30 because they won't accept anything late in the day. They have lunch from ~12 to ~2:30
