The worst post office ever expect for one person who was wonderful. I was selected to go abroad and was waiting for my passport which had reached the post office and still they don't want to open. They said it didn't come yet. The most negligent, lazy and worst people ever. Now, my job application has been on stand for around 4 days and not yet dispatched. Well they are playing with people's lives.

Definitely the worst post office with the poorest administrative branch in Assam. The so called Superintendent of Post, Mr Dilip Mandal asked me for a bribe of 10k, through one of his agents, in order to let me work there on contractual basis. No wonder, the people working here are inefficient because if such a highly decorated post asks for bribe, all the incumbent unemployed people out there are likely to go for it.

It is the Head Post office of Jorhat. It is situated in the middle of town. It is engaged in services like postal service, passport, Aadhar update etc. It also provides banking services. It provides banking services like Recurring Deposit, Savings Account, fixed deposit, NSC, KVP, MSI, Insurance, PPF, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana etc. But avoid opening any account in this post office. You have to wait in a long queue for depositing, withdrawing cash or any other service. It is not updated like any private sector bank.

The lady who was sitting in the speed post counter was so rude becoz I didn't have exact change to give also was rudely advising me to go to a post office near my house in rowriah ....so my advice plz carry lots of change and b ready to listen to their grudges.....very terrible behavior....somebody teach soft skills to them .....every one is bzy not jst u sitting there in a cozy seat in front of computer.

I do not recommend anyone to ever send their stuff from here. First of all, they take really long to send the parcel, in my case it took more than 3 weeks when they said it'll take less than a week and not only that the staff's behaviours is extremely rude, we never complained about how long they took to deliver the parcel but when I opened the parcel, I noticed that the parcel was already open and torn apart and a dress was missing, it was taped and in a really bad condition. When o talked w the people who sent the parcel, they sent me a video of how they packed it and there was clearly no tape in it and all the dresses were there . When I called them, they acted really rudely, didn't co-operate as well and cut the call. And the number that they have given on their official site does not work or they just don't pick it up. I am really disappointed and I need a refund

Nice look of post office building. It is quite spacious place. It is located in the heart of Jorhat town. Beside of main gate there is a India post ATM also. Very nice branch of India post payment bank. It is well maintained. But the major drawback is staffs very lazy in mail department. Specially Aadhar enrollment service is very poor . He is always try to relax and not to work. A professional and efficient person need to be deploy here.

Why is it that Jorhat post office is always run by grumpy old men who think they know it all and bask in their pride whenever you approach them? Its very hard to get the attention of anybody over there, and when they do attend to you, its hardly a pleasant experience. This here is a building of dissatisfaction. Speedpost female cashiers are also rude, and their replies are always either "Etiya eku koribo nuwaru, pasot ahibo" (Can't help you, try tomorrow) or "Moi ki koru? Eku koribo nuwaru" (What can I do? Can't do anything) Well if you can't do anything, why get the job at all? The local post offices are much more friendlier and know what they are doing. Very disappointed with the staff. I wish they hire ones more educated in customer service.
