But there are few employees who work really good but frequent internet issues make them inefficient. Some works always take 2 to 3 days due to internet issues and have to visit another day and never complete in a day.

They DELAY than the 7 working days for Malaysia they mention in speed post. If your document wants to be sent faster without delay, better go with DHL or even local services like professional service where they will send the document via DHL. Speedpost charges you but never send on time. If you want to save cost and it's not time sensitive, then just do the regular post.

This Head Post Office was once very very important place (second only to the General Post Office at 1st Line Beach Road ) to rush to this spot for last time late clearance of Letters / Envelope by 2000 hrs when we miss our posts in the neighbourhood clearance by 1700 hrs or less. Posting of Registered Post / even ordinary post at this Post Office will ensure delivery by Mail / Air mail by the next working day. Now this is achieved by a system called Speed Post by the Post offices. This is also losing the importance as the email replaced every communication except the Original Legal / Signed Documents. This is as GPO located at a central place of downtown with many business concerns /offices around.

Worst customer service. The WAN/ internet connectivity either slows down frequently or doesn’t work at all. Even after getting token for service we will have to wait endlessly with only one counter manned and with no connectivity. Many senior citizens seen suffering with this ordeal. And icing to the cake is we will have to pay ₹118 if you want to transfer your account to another post office. You will have to run to another counter to pay and come back to your earlier counter to complete the work. Again you will have to wait for the process to complete at this counter. Who will pay for the mental agony, waiting time for every human and lackadaisical service at this post office?.

This post office is functioning for 24 x 7, which is next to St. Thomas Mount post office (functioning for 24 x 7). Even on Sundays we can send the speed post. Its great initiative by Govt. of India.

It's bang on the Mount Road, It is one of the oldest head post office in Chennai. It is very spacious neat and clean environment. Different counters are available for different kind of services. The Postal Services such as courier of documents and goods for both inland and international/ foreign countries. Postal Saving Account, Post Life Insurance, Applying for Passport, National Pension scheme, Fastag services, Pradhan Mantri Yojana services, different bill payment services viz, DTH, Mobile payments are also available. Credit card, debit card and cash payments are acceptable. There is no designated parking for visitors. Two wheeler and Four wheeler parking is on the road itself. Inside the Head post office a Bank ATM is there and a small pantry service which serves Tea, coffee, snacks& biscuits at reasonable price.
